The Library is not in vain called Great, the front yard was huge. They decide to split in 3 groups to find the possible treasure faster. Only after a while of searching places, Daelomin and hes 2 comrades notices something green flying fast between buildings. Moment later he has creeps and hears awful sound coming from behind. Juuri tälläisten pelien vuoksi mortikka on hauskaa!

    Round #: 2
Players and warbands: Mikko (Marauders) vs. Antti (Ogres)
Scenario and victor: Wyrdstone Hunt, Marauders win
Experience gained: Khagral 4xp, Khrolax 1xp, Anugax Baltaross 1xp, Savalock 1xp, Banon 1xp, Anmon 1xp
After effects, etc: Khagral gained Strongman skill

    Narrative Section:
After putting slaves to work at Poor quarter Khagral’s marauders set on to plunder Merchant’s Quarter.
On the arrival to Merchant’s Quarter Khagral and his marauders noticed there was Wyrdstone to be found in the Merchant’s Quarter. Khagral and Baltaross with their warhoubds went for the first shards they got their sights into and sent Khrolax and Anugax with Banon and Anmon to secure any other shards on the other side of Merchants Quarter. Meanwhile, Savalock wandered the streets between the two groups. When Banon and Anmon sighted a shard a horrid figure of an ogre approached the shard and got it from other side of the street. When Khrolax and Anugax saw the ogre they charged howling battlecries and encouraging Banon and Anmon do the same. Although Banon mustered the courage to charge an ogre, Anmon shriveled motionless at the sight.
When Khagral and Baltaross heard the shouts of the other group they send the hounds to help their fellow marauders. Meanwhile Savalock heard these shouts and sounds of the battle he started heading towards them. Being between the other groups Savalock arrived at the scene and saw another ogre heading towards Banon and while Khrolax and Angax battled the other ogre with not so good progress he saw more space and opportunity in the new ogre arrival and jumped down the platform charging the ogre. When hounds arrived to the scene they saw Khrolax and Anugax being pounded, stunned and knocked down by the first ogre they were not courageous enough to dive into that midst.
When Khagral and Baltaross arrived at the scene they saw the whimpering hounds, Baltaross whipped some speed into the hounds while Khagral inspired them with his presence to charge the ogres. Two of the three hounds got inspired by Khagral’s shouts and with a not so gentle touch of Baltaross’s whip, they charged the ogres and ripped the first ogre weakened by Khrolax and Anugax out of action. Upon the sight of fellow ogre and whole warband of marauders around him the second ogre made a run for it and escaped the scene. At the same time when the ogre made his escape Khagral noticed that among the stuff that the downed ogre had dropped glowed a shard of wyrdstone, first picking the shard from the ground the warband started searching the nearby streets and seeing a sight of two more ogres routing from the area.
And so they continued to search the Merchant’s Querter finding few more shards after the battle. While searching the ruined Quarter Khrolax, Anugax and Banon did not forget to boast how they fended of two ogres with only daggers as their equipment and with a little help from Savalock.

Pelaajat ja warbandit: Juhana (Welhot eksyksissä) & Sami (Halti(j)at)
Skenaario ja voittaja: Hidden treasure, Haltija ajoi ryhmän welhoja pakosalle
Hahmojen kehittyminen & jälkiefektit: Johtava Welho Waldemarus oppi uuden (oikeasti muisti vain vanhan) loitsun tiputtuaan tornista mukulakivetykselle ollen näin sivussa seuraavan kolmen pelin ajan.

Kerrontaa: Sade pieksi vasten Waldemaruksen kasvoja.

Jollakin keinoin Waldemarus onnistutaan raahaamaan mukana. Kuitenkin welhot lohduttautuvat ajatuksella hirviömäisestä ghoulista syömässä suippokorvia.

    Kierros 3
Pelaajat ja warbandit: Antti (ogres) vs Hannes (black orks)
Skenaario ja voittaja: Skirmish, winner: ogres
Hahmojen kehittyminen: Maneater captain +1 T, Hunter sai step aside skill, ogre calf +1 wound
Jälkiefektit, yms: Ogre calf löysi taistelun aikana ylimääräisen wyrdstonen (random event), sama ogre heitettiin myöhemmin kaivoon (kts. kertomus) josta se löysi toisen wyrdstonen (onnekas ogre).

    Taistelukertomus:

Hävittyään taistelun merchant quarterista (kts. kohta 4) Maneater kapteeni Uglug johdatti joukkonsa kohti isoa ihmisten kiviluolaa (tunnetaan myös nimellä the Rock).

    Round #: 3
Players and warbands: Ville H, Bretonnia. Elias, Lizardmen.
Scenario and victor: Wyrdstone hunt, Ville H.
    Experience gained: Apophis(Leader)+2,Carter(squire)+2, Oneill(squire)+2, rest +1
After effects, etc: Carter +1WS, O’neill new skill.

Narrative Section: It is with great pride I do this task that I have been assigned to. For in his wisdom the great Apophis assigned me to keep track of his glorious task. The task of exploring the city of Mordheim and its treasures. Joining our lord in this task were his first prime Bratac and his second, Teal’c, with them came Bratacs squires Jackson and Carter, followed by Teal’c’ own squire O’neill. The cohort also includes many servants and warriors too numerous to list here.
They first days in Mordheim were taxing to our cohort, for in the first night we were ambushed by unknown assailants and many of our group were felled by them and equipment stolen. With the skill and bravery of our heroes these assailants were driven back, but many of our group were lost, driven deeper into Mordheim. Our lord has vowed to find his subjects and bring retribution upon these assailants.

It was only the two days after that we came upon some fabled Wyrdstone fragments on one of the city districts. But we were not the only ones there. In the shadows lurked a deadly foe. A group of lizardmen had come upon the same prizes as we.
Our esteemed lord ordered these lizardmen to be removed and the wyrdstones recovered.
While Bratac and Teal’c took their own squires and advanced upon the wyrdstones, our lord took upon himself to engage the enemy leader. He ushered his mount to a charge and they ran full speed at the enemy, dodging their ranged weaponry.
During that time the lords Bretac and Teal’c had reached their goals, Teal’c and O’neill finding one wyrdstone and taking it towards our forces. Bretac and his squires had some trouble with their piece as the lizardmen had a part of their forces set upon the same piece. As they got closer to the spot, Bratac commanded his squires to charge upon the enemy. Jackson and Carter charged in and engaged the enemy in close combat, under the watchful eye of their teacher.
During this our lord had engaged the enemy leader and his guards. A glorious battle ensued, our lord in gleaming armor and his trusty mount against the green scaled lizards. They fought well and fierce againts the lizards, eventually felling one of the guards.
It was during that battle that did the dead rise from their graves. Called by the sounds of the battle a group ghouls lumbered in from one of the streets. With steady pace and hunger in their eyes they walked towards our esteemed lord.
They fought well, dodging and parrying the lizardmen strikes, while their master joined in on the fight. As he made his way to assist his squires did one of the lizards attempt to attack him from an above ruined house. But true was master Bratacs step, as the lizard missed him and fell to his demise on the hard pavement.
During that Jackson was struck down by one of the lizards and couldn’t fight no more. Enraged by this event, Carter took and slayed one of the lizards.
When that last lizard fell down did their leader call for a retreat. In mere seconds did all of the lizardmen scamper off into the streets and gutters, escaping the fierce resistance of our heroes.

When the battle was over did the masters Bratac and Teal’c praise their squires, as Carter had shown his weapon skill in defeating the lizard and Teal’c was impressed in the skillful way O’neill handled the pressure of his task.
Our lord deemed the task a success, even though we only recovered only one of the wyrdstone fragments from the lizards but did uncover more of them afterwards.
After that our lord commanded us to move to a better position to regroup and recover our strength, there was much to be done.

    – Scribe Mal Doran.

    Round #: 3
Players and warbands: Jussi N (Undead), Ville M (Marauders), Mikko I (Marauders)
Scenario and victor: The Pool, Victor Jussi
    Experience gained:
    2xp: Khrolax
1xp: Khagral, Anugax, Baltaross, Savalock, Banon, Anmon
+1 Learedship : Khagral, Anugax, Khrolax, Baltaross

    Narrative Section:
After hearing rumours about an Undead warband nearing on Khagral’s Merchant Quarter, he and his warband set to defend the area.

Upon arriving to Merchants Quarter, Baltaross witnessed few undead creatures heading to centre of quarter and sent the hounds ahead to intercept them and followed them with Savalock, Banon and Anmon. Meanwhile Khagral, Anugax and Khrolax neared the others from another alley.

Although Baltaross was confident in his hounds he did not expect the undead to charge before he had time to react and so three of those creatures were on them before he knew. A creature that seemed some time ago had been a wolf tore apart one of Baltaross’s hounds.

Banon who was mustering the courage to dive into the midst of hounds and wolves was surprised when a vampire appeared behind crates. Banon tried his best to fend off the vampire but it was too strong for inexperienced marauder and he fell down.

Khagral and his champions came behind a ruined building to see an horrid sight of wolves tearing apart their hounds and tried to charge those responsible for their whimpering hounds but the sight was too fearsome for Khagral and Anugax to charge into, athough Khrolax was fearless against that sight he wondered what the others were so afraid of. He soon saw two more lively fellows come into the fight, one to him and other to a hound. Khrolax got a strike past the new arrival’s defenses and downed him. That strike however was his downfall as the wolf that he was fighting got a bite of him and he fell there.
Meanwhile Savalock was fighting another hound that had ripped another one of the hounds to shreds with no progress.

With fear still having a hold of Khagral he ordered a retreat and so they left the quarter for undead and some other warband that had arrived to scene to fight amongst.

Having acknowledged their low morale Khagral had a speech with his warband to boost. It seemed that it had a good effect.

Although it was a bitter defeat Khagral and his marauders still got time and motivation to loot the place while the two warbands fought each other. They found one of the twelve mastermaps of mordgheim and barding for their horse that Khagral found on another fight with an Orc warband but that fight will probably be left untold.

    Kierros #: 3
Pelaajat ja warbandit: Juska (Welhot) vs Elias (Reptiliaanit)
Skenaario ja voittaja: Talonvaltaus, Elias voitti
Jälkiefektit, yms: Juskan kaksi henchmania kuoli, harry sai hermovaurion (menee pissat vielä helpommin jo ennestään märkiin housuihin kun reaktiokyky huononee). Reptiliaaneja kuoli joitakin.

    Narratiivia:

”Mitä tuo sihinä on?”

Harrykin sai itsensö tolpilleen mutta vasta seuraavana päivänä pää jomottaen ja soiden: ”All the best girls all the best they got boys.. ” Waldemaruksella oli sivustapaheksujana yksi sana. Tunarit.

    Round #: 4
Players and warbands: Ville H, Bretonnia. Elias, Lizardmen. Hannes, Black Orcs. Antti, Ogres.
Scenario and victor: Skirmish, Elias. Skirmish, Ville H. Treasure Hunt, Ville H
    Experience gained: Lots.
After effects, etc: Apophis, new skill, initiative +1. Bra’tac, -1 BS, new skill. Teal’c, +1 LD, new skill. Jackson, new skill, immune to fear. Carter, new skill. O’neill, new skill, immune to fear. Bowmen, +1 attack, +ld.

Narrative Section: These last days have been taxing for all of us. Lead by our glorious lord we had been searching for our missing people and did eventually find a group of bowmen, who had been forced to stay hidden and scavenge what they could from the ruined city. 2 of them were in good enough shape to join the armed force outright but the others need more rest.
It didn’t take long until their services and skills were needed. For the lizardmen we had earlier faced arrived upon the same city district as we and battle ensued. Our forces fought with valor and skill but in the end did our lord call for a retreat and as we withdrew from the area did we hear the chilling sounds of the lizardmen, cheering.
It was almost immediately did we arrive to another battle.

For upon the next district we came upon menacing orcs. It would seem that they weren’t expecting us but attacked nonetheless and our lord bid to give the orcs a lesson and ordered our forces to attack. Our bowmen, shamed for their subpar fighting earlier attacked the orcs with their swords and fought like crazed. Their swords faster and deadlier than before did they keep the main force of the orcs separated. Then did our lord charge at the other orcs, willing to bring the battle to a quick end. Assisted by his primes did he bring two of them down, causing the orc band call for a retreat and run off to the distance.
During the confusion had master Teal’c wandered to an arena, which was filled with vagrants and other dark figures, then did the doors close and did a warrior clad in spiked armor step in. A horn blared out and master Teal’c attacked the warrior without mercy, downing him in one masterful strike.
He then returned to us, carrying a sack of gold and experience burning in his heart.

During that time did our lord call for a rest. He praised his warriors for their courage and favored the bowmen for their valour in combat. Jokingly did he say that if the bowmen got any better at melee would they have to forgo their bows and charge the enemy head on. Somehow I think the humor was lost to the bowmen and they took it as an order.

We met stragler at one of districts who told us of a treasure hidden in one of the houses, although he did not know which one. Our lord deemed it a worthy cause and took his fighting force to search for that treasure, only to find that they were not alone there. Ogres had also come to district and obviously were searching for the treasure.
The hulking creatures moved from one house to another with speed, searching each house. Our lords forces moved in from one side and kept their distance, bowmen firing when they could.
The ogres attacked without mercy, ganging up at our forces where they could. The bowmen took heed upon our lords words earlier and abandoned their bows and drew swords, charging the enemy. Meanwhile our lord attacked two other ogres. Their resistance and fighting skill proved to better than expected. Many of our force were struck down, but did the squire Jackson and the bowmen stand firm and fierce. So great was their resolve that the ogres fled from the scene, leaving the treasure behind.
So great was their charge out that did they capture young squire Jackson. They negotiated his release in exchange for gold and our lord agreed.

After the battle our lord ordered our wounded to tended. Only master Bra’tac had suffered the worst blow, as his other eye was damaged in the fighting. O’neill, Jackson and master Teal’c kneeled upon our lord and told that they had lost because a seed of fear had grown in their hearts. They vowed never to bring such dishonor upon our force and said to have cast aside any fear from their hearts. Our gracious lord accepted their vows and promised in return to be quick in his step in combat.

Indeed was the treasure we had recovered great, for we gathered much equipment and gold from it. It would greatly help our travels in this cursed city and its abominable inhabitants.

    Round #: 4
Players and warbands: Sami. M (Tomb Guardians) vs. Juhana Rytkönen (Lost Wizards), Block 37, encounter.
Scenario and victor: Roll 8: defending player picks scenario (TombG picks Skirmish.) Tomb Guardins win by forcing Lost Wizards to flee for their lives. Routed.
Experience gained: Tomb Lord:3, Lich priest:2, Acolytes 2 per unit, Tomb Guardians 1 per unit.
After effects, etc: Zero injuries and zero long lasting effects on either side.

The Truly lost hocuspokus men try their luck in the markets, thinking `easy pickings,´ willfully unaware there are a real carnival of undead tourists already cleaning the bazaar of precious stones and rare goodies. To no surprise to anyone, a grand melee begins immediately as both parties exchange quick hostile remarks. (Unintelligible mad gibbering from the wizards and just angry grunting from the dead side of things.) Staring the long and gruesome bloodbath. Do undead bleed, huh? Stay tuned and find out!

The Tomb guardians start strong…as one of their prized Acolytes suddenly fell in a black hole in the middle of the freaking street! Seriously , how the hell does one manage that? A big, stinking hole on the ground and the dumb undead just stumbles in there! He felt the call of the cold hard ground, he felt like home there. Against all rules of comedy the Acolyte didnt break his neck, instead he found dust and a random purse with 7 gold coins inside it. Luck has it the Acolyte suffered no injuries but he was out for the rest of this fight. Round one and the Wizards are winning by one dude, fantastic.

Speaking of comedy, the fight proceeded as you´d imagine; the humans had humongous advance in movement speed and agility, as well as overpowering number of ranged attacks in the form of spell casting. (Magic men pissing magic missiles left and right. Go figure.) The slow army of dead lovers (see what i did there? Huh? Huh?) moved…slow across the streets while the living flied and hopped on the rooftops raining arcane bolts and bombarding the living daylights of the Tombs Guardians. There as nothing the dead can do to counter this, their movement speed dont allow them to pursue the flaying cross dressers, leaving them no other options then try withstanding the heavy rain. The Lich Priest lacks the range to drop them from the sky, he is struck down before he gets a real change to seriously try.

R&D had it the Wizards had minimal luck thinning the skeletal ranks, leaving the brave/foolish humans challenge the main bulk of the undead forces in close combat down on the street level. This teaches the living to fear the dead, constantly losing valuable opportunities to charge against the slow heap of bones on accord of shaking too much in their boots to do anything productive.

The dead outnumber the living, closing in inevitable melee. The flying roof wizards find no easy targets among the enemies, the bashing of steel and bone leave their friends mingled and mixed with the fearless undead, they cannot fire their spells in the swarming crowds without risking hitting their own allies.

Teeth to teeth, blade to blade, insult to insult the living match the foul corpse party, never giving an inch. Gathering their strength, standing their ground, refusing to give in to their fear the murderous combat continues what seems like hours. The two factions both match blow to blow, neither is voluntarily giving up this fight. No-one is leaving this fight early. (Aside the blind and dumb Acolyte who fell in a hole, sigh. What a hero.)

Each men who fell made the unholy monsters pay in blood, not giving an inch. One by one the ranks lose their men and walking dead alike. The living have to work twice, no trice as hard to drop one skele permanently thanks to their unnatural resilience. The most scary Tomb Lord ruling the horrifying army of dead is in the dead center of battle, swinging his mighty halberd, a titan of a ruthless warrior. Hacking and slashing away at the meat bags who (occasionally) dare to face him! All that monumental effort amounts to one dropped human mage or other no-name dude…as if some strange random force kept saying `you son Aínt hitting nuthing today.´ Spectacular display of bravery and resilience from the humans…or the mister Miettinen rolled crap. Thats the nature of the game said a bystander Rytkönen while trying to find a good deal on some sneakers.

The day grow long, the shadows deep but the grand match had no instant end in its sight. Massive casualties, empty ranks, fallen comrades. Epic deeds and desperate maneuvers left less then four undead struggling versus the equal number of wizards. The fight could end at any time! What manner of legendary determination could fuel thees heros continue exchanging hits this long?! Greed? Thirst for battle? Hatred for each other? Lust for decently priced vegetables?

Alas all good things must come to and end, the match is won by the cold undead who showed no fear. The humans had to succumb to the reality of the situations and flee for their dear lives. Pure luck made the humans lose this hair close fight or the favor of the gods carried the Tomb Lord to victory? Bards shall tell tales of this encounter, fathers will tell their sons of their bravery on this day. Bitter drunkards will curse their luck and mutter in their drink `if i only had one more turn i´d had the bastards surely.´ Be that it may but on this day, on this market gate the dead rule thees street.

Later that day the sounds of battle lured the orcs in, and they were ambushed by a vampire damsel, the lunatical nutta was beaten up badly by the vampire, however before the vampire had the chance to drain the life force of the orc, the warboss and his bodyguard engaged the vampire trading blows for what seemed like a eternity, luckily enough the undead ran away facing with no known reason to.

Afterwards the black orc warband started looting the market square and found a wyrdstone shard in a well among other things like a broken warband of ogres. ofcourse still thirsting for battle, the lunatic nutta being especially difficult on how to manage his bloodlust perhaps because of his close encounter with a vampire.

Overall satisfied with the happenings of the day, The warboss started smoking his pipe and observing the newly conquered plot of land.

Scenario and victor: wyrdstone hunt, no winner
Experience gained: 1xp for all except Teal’c
After effects, etc: Advancements for almost all. Teal’c dead but rebought. Bowmen +1 attack.

    Story:
I don’t know how long we have been here. We have been wandering inside this cursed city, lead by our glorious lord and his vision.
The things we have seen were only true to us in old wives’ tales used to scare disobient children. But they are real and they are here.
Just other day we were searching another district when we saw a motley crew of strange fellows. They obviously had been in the city longer than us, far longer it seemed. Their clothes were mostly dirty and torn and they carried weapons blackened by the elements. Without explanation these weird straglers attacked us.
Our lord ordered the non-combatants back while he lead the warriors against the attackers. His orders were to engage the enemy and collect any resource they might come across.
Fierce was their assault upon them, but we soon learned why this rag tag group had survived so long. For they wielded the power of magic.
It was obvious once we saw their supposed leader disappear and reappear at another point. Our lord saw the hesitation in his forces faces and charged forth againgst the main group. He brutally charged a hulking brute, an ogre, keeping it and it’s nearest comrades occupied. Our esteemed lords Bratac and Teal’c went to charge another magic user some length away.

This magic user had obviously placed an evil enchantment upon a valiant warrior. As the warrior obiediently followed every command and wish of that sorcerer as she moved towards our lords. They soon were in full combat, swords clashing and armor gleaming.

The squires and the bowmen went another route to help our lord. They came under fire from one of the mages who had taken a position on a destroyed hovel and was doing his magics against our forces.
Just as the squires were about to engage the forces attacking our lord did something appear before them. Where once was only a cobble stone road was now standing an elemental. Bigger than a man and fierce strength in its eyes. It attacked the squires and the bowmen, keeping them from joining our lord.

Our lord fought valiantly, sword singing, bloacking with his shield and reining his mount against the assailants.

The battle was at a stalemate, until something horrible appeared.
As the earth rumbled, did something hideous burts out of the ground in the direction of our main force. A serpent, bigger than any man, horse or even an ogre, rose from the ground. We assume it had been lured in by the rampant magic use of the enemy.
From the tales I remember I was able to name this fierce beast, Dread Maw. It is unkown if the Dread Maw is a singular beast or just one of its species, but it is fierce and should not be engaged by anyone.

Our lord noticed this beast as it moved underground towards his prime and the apprentice who were still locked in combat with the sorcerer and her hexed warrior. He tried to call upon his forces to regroup and charge the beast but the resistance of the other warriors was too great. Our lord was hit bad and had to retreat.
During this time did the squires destroy the elemental and attack the other force. They fought valiantly but were slowly beaten and driven off.
Even our mighty primes Bratac and Teal’c had to break off as they were set between the opposing warriors and the Dread Maw.

Our lord called for a retreat in order to protect the main force. In the hours afterwards we nursed our wounded. O’neill had lost his way in the retreat and had wandered into a strange battle with a spiked armor clad warrior. He couldn’t defeat this warrior and his equipment had been ransacked on the way out.
Carter had his leg injured but our physician was able to heal it in the end.
Master Teal’c laid on his death bed the whole night, until morning he near miraculously rose up, less of a man than before as he said it.
Our esteemed lord had lost his eye. He swore retribution.

His sword would taste the blood of these wizards…

    Skink priest Grick’s diary:

It has already been two full moons since we arrived to this so called Mordheim. My mission here is to new areas and treasures for my people. For my fortune our forces have been very succesfull in the last battles against opposing races. Not only fearsome vampire with her undead slaves but also wizards and orcs have fallen to their knees in front of my mighty warriors.
Today we faced some orcs trying to claim our territory for themselves. It was that area where should be a treasure chest inside one building if the rumors are to be believed. I was sure that those savage beasts had heard the same thing also.
So the battle began. It was kind of weird because both we and orcs just tried to find that treasure before the other. On top of that there was one hell of a wind. Climbing was dangerous, missile weapons were useless and even close combat was difficult.
Finally one of our henchmen found the treasure. When our opponent found that out they just tried desperately stop us even if they were slower than my skinks. I thought orcs would give up if we just mislead them. However our saurus hero Crack was way too blood thirsty to do that. He charged straight towards upcoming group of orcs. He manged to kill one of them before I ordered him to fall back right to the others.
A little while after those orcs called their tactical retreat and victory was ours once more. We found a couple of swords and a little of gold from the treasure chest but that was not all. While going to sell some wyrdstone we encountered a rare person. It was chameleon skink named Rask. He is just lonely adventurer in Mordheim. After feasting together I managed to hire him so our forces are now stronger than ever. I wonder if there is anyone who can oppose us?

One of the more cunning orcs amongst the warband spotted and managed to wound the dwarf that was sniping at the orcs from a distance in a well covered location, curiously there were no other signs of any other dwarves to be found anywhere, suddenly there was a dwarf charging from the catacombs trying to kill the troll of the warband, Barg the Wolfhound charged into the crypt after the slayer was slain, little did barg know that there were more dwarves in those catacombs, as he was suddenly ambushed by three more dwarves, luckily he quickly bested the dwarves in a quick and brutal melee.

Afterwards the orcs were met with a surprisingly peaceful feeling, as they had reclaimed their most cherished possession, the market square.

However the black orc boss Gorgok seemed to also want something, something. Somewhere.
